"A heroine gone to soon without a goodbye" this is what has rocked the air in Nairobi in this 25th day of September. Wangari Maathai was the leader of the greenbelt movement and having achieved numerous awards including the most coveted nobel price she leaves Kenya in great deep sorrow and regret. If we conserved our resources better, fighting over them would not then occur…so, protecting the global environment is directly related to securing peace…those of us who understand the complex concept of the environment have the burden to act. We must not tire, we must not give up, we must persist.”
